Impact on Americans
The Vietnam war impacted American's in many different ways. When boys got their draft cards they often burned them. They claimed to be homosexual and faked disabilities. Some protesters used to chant "Hey, hey, LBJ, how many kids did you kill today?" Because he had napalm thrown down onto Vietnam in order to clear the leaves off trees so that the soldiers could see past the trees as they attacked. They also because some of our war practice.
Since many Americans didn't understand the war, they would spit on the soldiers that had come home from the Vietnam war because there was a period of time that the soldiers were ordered to kill the Vietnamese for fun. This was called 'Mai Lai'. During the war, back in America, Collage student protesters started to conduct teach-ins, they picketed, they paraded and held candle light vigils. Everyone wanted to end the draft, people made dozens of protest buttons and many people made posters to help end the draft. The anti-draft slogan was "Hell no, we wont go!"
